Betty Schneider’s client roster includes Grammy and Tony award winning singers. She travels throughout the United States and Europe doing workshops in musical theatre, pop, r &b, and jazz. Having trained in New York and Los Angeles, she now resides in Berkeley where she specializes in teaching seamless vocal technique and passionate performance.

Betty's studio just received the “Performer of the Year Award” from Bread and Roses, an organization that presents live entertainment to uplift the spirits of the isolated and institutionalized. Bread and Roses presents over 500 shows a year with the help of hundreds of performing groups. The "Performer of the Year Award" was given to Betty and her students for their outstanding performances in drug rehab facilities, hospitals, homeless shelters, senior centers and juvenile halls.

She has pursued a life-long career in the arts, in such diverse fields as dance, choreography, directing, lighting, acting, singing and teaching. Since graduating from Oberlin College with a BA in Theatre Arts, she has worked with American Conservatory Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Theatreworks, Woodminster, Contra Costa Musical Theatre, California Theatre Arts, Children's Theatre Workshop, Willows Theatre and Seth Riggs' Summer Institute in Los Angeles.

With more than 25 years experience in the performing arts, teaching is now Betty’s chosen profession. She is grateful to her principal teachers Adrienne Angel, Seth Riggs, Jeffrey Bihr, Faith Winthrop, and Leigh McRae, who helped to show the way. Having been inspired by great teachers, Betty knows the positive impact a teacher can have in a singer’s life. She is most excited by working with and developing a new generation of artists in Berkeley, California.
